Final boards

Here are the final board layouts that i have chosen to submit for this brief. i have chosen a landscape format as i believe it represents the photography for the product better and fits with the format of the final resolution.

The large product shots of both the bags and the cards shows of the design along with the nice close up shots of the detailing, this gives a nice over all impact of the concept and design.

The product shot of the bag is enough to show the concept and design of the bags, even thought it isn't a complete range of the designs. I think the vector images to the right of the shot portrays the different designs the bags come in enough to be able to put in a nice cropped product shot.

Again just as with the bags i have used a nice cropped product shot to portray the idea and concept and used vector images along side the shot to show the range of designs the cards come in. This has more of an impact and allows for more of a sexy product shot to attract the attention of the audience.

Photoshoped product shots

I have touched up the original photos from the studio shoot. I have lightened them with a higher contrast to give them a clean fresh look. i think they have touched up nicely. I would of liked to take a better range of photos for the impact boards but i had a limited time in the studio. Overall i think the photos will have a high impact visually to show off the product range that has been designed.

Studio shoot - bags

Just as i did with the cards i booked studio time to photography the bags for the final boards and the final product shots.

I am happy with how the photos came out and the format and in which the product sit. I think the cropped angle of the products will work well when applied to the impact boards for submission. I will touch the photos up in photoshop before before i apply them to the impact boards.

Finished bags

I have constructed all eight bags and added fabric handles to match the black and white colour scheme. I am quite pleased with the outcome of the bags, they seem sturdy and strong and al the folds have come together correctly just like my mock up.

I have photographed a few of the finished products to show how they have come together and also captured some of the detailing.

Making the bags

Once i printed the net designs off I had to construct the nets of the bags individually.

Gift bag nets

I have laid out the gift bag nets with the corresponding designs on. I have measure out the crop marks and cutting marks so that there are no guide line son the actually design of the bag to ensure the crisp clean finish.

Vector bag

This is the mock up of how i want the bags to look:

Extending the brief - gift bags

After a crit an idea to extend the brief further into an entire range, i will design a range of bags with the card series designs on. this would create a solid range that could be sold as a set or individually.

After researching and my previous knowledge of nets i have constructed the net that i shall use for my bags. It is a simple bag that will eventually have each image from the series on both sides and maybe information regarding the specific typeface on the side panels to advertise the range.

Above is the initial design sheet with the idea and net quickly drawn up.
To make sure it works i have mocked it up:

I am happy with the mock up as the net works as i wanted it to. I will scale it up and add the images onto the front and back and the full typeface that corresponds to the ampersand either side to make it it link in with the card series.

Photoshoped product shots

After taking shots of my products for my final boards, even though i was pleased with the photos i had to phootoshop them slightly to soften the colours and make them more presentable.

I am really happy with the way the images have come out. The clean black and white contrast really makes the design leap from the card. The angle really works well as a product shot

Product photoshoot

I have now setup a phtoshoot to photograph my final products for my final submission boards and portfolio. Here are the shots form the shoot which i intend to use for the final boards.

I am quite happy with the way the shots came out for the card series. I tried to get some good angle shots of the series so that the impact board is more visually appealing.
